Must Haves:
- Minimum of 4-year B.S. degree required. EHS Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in EHS or related experience.
- Minimum of 3-year management experience or supervisory equivalent.
- Must have strong leadership experience in QA in a manufacturing setting- see all requirements in job description above.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
- Experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Practitioner preferably within a manufacturing or commercial environment
- Demonstrated experience managing a team, change management and project management
- Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with Health and Safety audit experience

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
- Co-ordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus annual plans for facility/function wide HSE initiatives
- Plan/Budget/Control annual capital budget for HSE to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal and external compliance standards
- Provide HSE expertise for the facility/function for all new projects and change management activities
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses that might cause harm to one of the company's employees, contractors, visitors
- Ensure that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and supports development and learning capabilities of Safety specialists
- Ensure the facility standards are in compliance with both Company and governmental/community regulations
- Ensure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization
- Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure facility compliance with company and regulatory agency policies including federal, state, and local legislation and, also regulations about worker safety and preservation of the environment.
- Administer training programs for safety incident prevention, protection, and EHS management systems.
- Provide guidance and oversight for all incident investigations. Lead, coordinate and participate in the investigations as needed to ensure effective corrective action/ preventive action closure for incidents.
- Responsible for maintaining the EHS budget for the Indianapolis Bakery. Will also assist other managers in allotting for appropriate funding to complete EHS goals.
- Responsible for strategic leadership and implementation of EHS systems.
- Responsible for leading the bakery sustainability program and projects.
- Be able to provide night and weekend coverage as needed, with on-call status with expectations of immediate response. Demonstrated experience articulating a vision, translating it into executable strategy and driving cross-functional teams to deliver against the plan.
- Skilled at translating data and analytics to develop insights, tell stories, improve practices and measure impact.
- Proven track record of facilitating enterprise-level initiatives with multiple business leaders and senior stake holders.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) exhibited at all levels within an organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relationships with peers and leaders across an organization.
- Keen ability to drive change: to transform, align and inspire in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability program development, implementation, and training including lock out/tag out, confined space entry, chemical hygiene, respiratory protection, fall protection, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, chemical management and behavior based safety programs.
- Experience with OSHA and EPA regulations and application in food production.
- Experience with Sustainability practices and initiatives.
