Overview:
Metronome is seeking a Software Engineer with strong experience in Golang and REST API development to support our work within the Iron Bank (IB) ecosystem. This role focuses on building performant and secure backend services and integrating them into a modern cloud-based software pipeline. You will work closely with product managers and DevSecOps engineers to design and maintain applications that meet DoD standards and operate in containerized environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support mission-critical services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate functional requirements into robust software solutions.
- Contribute to the development of tools and automation to streamline deployment and operational workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Assist with containerizing applications using Docker and deploying them into Kubernetes clusters.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation to support system transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or performance issues across the stack.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows in collaboration with infrastructure and DevSecOps teams.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders on progress, blockers, and technical decisions.
Required Skills

- 3+ years of software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Golang.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs in production environments.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
- Experience deploying or working within Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Solid understanding of modern backend architecture, API security, and microservices principles.
Desired Skills
- Experience working within DoD environments or with Iron Bank container standards.
- Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or Helm.
- Exposure to container scanning tools (e.g., Trivy, Grype) or SBOM management tools.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and STIG compliance.
