Vice President of Sales - Salesforce Practice
Location: Remote
Description:
HESFP, LLC - a HigherEchelon, Inc. company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to drive growth efforts in its Salesforce Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding HESFP's federal, DoD, and state/local Salesforce portfolio by leading and focusing the business development, capture, and solutioning efforts. To be successful, the candidate will own the pursuit of major opportunities, and coach the team on smaller opportunities. Under this person's guidance, HESFP will drive the development of compelling and compliant technical solutions for RFIs and RFPs, while also leading quick-turn responses for short-duration task orders and contracts. More importantly, the selected candidate must bring strong federal capture experience, with the ability to leverage their network and customer relationships to identify and open doors to new opportunities. They should also bring hands-on proposal writing experience and a willingness to mentor others in this area-while advising leadership on contract vehicles and growth strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
• This role will be oriented to top opportunity execution, with the remaining focus on Sales Leadership and Best Practices through the extended team.
• Leverage an existing network of government stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers to identify opportunities and accelerate relationship-building across the federal sector.
• Enhance and deliver a sales pipeline and action plan to prospect, acquire, and maintain new business relationships.
• Establish and maintain relationships with public sector Salesforce Account Executives and other stakeholders in the Salesforce ecosystem, including partners, third-party software vendors, and resellers.
• Work in collaboration with the Salesforce Practice leaders to identify targeted accounts and opportunities to pursue for long-term public-sector growth.
• Identify and source Salesforce business leads using publicly available data sources, as well as relationships with Salesforce ecosystem stakeholders.
•Understand and apply the Salesforce ecosystem and product lines to solve customer pain points and shape opportunities for future mission needs.
• Demonstrated success leading, composing, and winning technical proposal efforts for federal and DoD clients.
• Proven ability to perform under pressure, take ownership of high-value opportunities, and guide proposal teams to successful outcomes.
• Lead major capture and proposal efforts, ensuring compliance with federal evaluation criteria and internal standards.
• Effectively delegate and guide team members throughout the sales and proposal lifecycle to drive efficient, high-quality execution.
• Serve as a coach and mentor for Sales team members on smaller proposal efforts, fostering growth and promoting best practices.
• Lead proposal responses by drafting Technical Approach, Management Approach, Staffing Plan, and other sections as needed.
• Attend public sector Salesforce ecosystem events and other federal tradeshows/conferences as needed.
Required Skills:
• Experience bidding and winning government contracts.
• Low-code/no-code platform expertise (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Appian, Pega, etc.)
• Experience shaping proposals for government programs.
• Understand how federal contract vehicles are awarded, including the nuances of IDIQs, BPAs, GWACs, and agency-specific mechanisms; familiarity with alternative acquisition paths such as OTAs/OTPs, SBIRs, and STTRs is a plus.
• Proven track record of winning contracts at various federal and DoD agencies.
• Good private and public sector client prospects and relationships.
• Ability to communicate the organization's vision and mission to external audiences.
• Self-motivated to actively source new business opportunities.
• Working knowledge of core Salesforce products/capabilities, such as Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
• Strong writing skills and familiarity with the public sector business development process. Previous experience writing public sector RFI and proposal responses is a must.
• Familiarity with IT project delivery principles - e.g., Agile, Human-Centered Design, project management best practices (preferred).
• Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required
• At least twelve (12) years working in a Salesforce or similar LCNC platform, oriented to public sector business development/capture/proposal writing role.

• Existing relationships with public sector Salesforce Account Executives (preferred).
• Experience working with U.S. federal civilian agencies (ex. DHS, HHS, USDA, etc.) (preferred).
