Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Flight Test Engineer (Grp 3) at Eglin AFB, FL.
The successful applicant will provide Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) flight test engineering for ground and flight test efforts in support of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) AC-130J aircraft and other Fixed Wing programs. Tasks will include:
• Act as a Test Conductor for ground and flight tests of AC-130J and other weapon systems
• Develop test planning documentation, including Test Plans, Methods of Test, and Flight Test Cards
• Analyze data and write mission test reports
• Facilitate the safety coordination process
• Support government efforts to meet programmatic timelines and overcome resource and schedule challenges
• Support operational training efforts as required
Responsibilities:
Provide flight test engineering expertise for USSOCOM weapon system development.
• Act as Test Conductor for A2E programs involving Group 1-5 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and their associated networks
• Support and participate in flight test event planning, test execution, data management, data collection, and data distribution
• Develop and review test objectives, test plans, and other required documentation
• Provide requirements for test venues and test assets
• Prepare test cards and checklists and coordinate post mission data analysis activities
• Apply technical expertise to assess test range, weapon system, or technology project readiness for testing and advise senior test personnel on test readiness
• Support preparation of mission execution schedules, logistics coordination, and track status and risk
• Interface with other government and range organizations and development contractors
• Strive to meet programmatic timelines and overcome resource and schedule challenges, as needed
• Facilitate the safety of the test execution process
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science and 18 years of engineering/technical experience
• 5+ years in test and evaluation, aerospace duties, and related technical work
• Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class 3 flight physical
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience/knowledge of avionics/mission systems, munitions systems, and/or comm/radar systems
• Working knowledge of Air Force T&E policies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
• Active Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working with or within the 96 Test Wing at Eglin AFB, FL
• Active Top-Secret clearance
• Test Pilot School Graduate
• Master of Science degree in engineering and 10 years of engineering/technical experience
• 5+ years in test and evaluation, aerospace duties, and related technical work
• Experience preparing flight test documents, including Test Plans, Methods of Test, and Flight Test Cards
• Experience serving as a Flight Test Conductor and performing on-aircraft operations
• Experience in flight operations, test operations, SOF, Air Dominance, Strike, or ISR Experience preparing flight test documents
• Instrumentation, data management, and data analysis experience
