Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking a System Administrator (Linux/Storage) to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the IRES contract at Schriever Space Force Base. This role is responsible for building, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting both virtual and physical servers and enterprise storage systems in support of mission operations.

Description of Duties:
The System Administrator (Linux/Storage) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot storage systems/arrays.
- Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices.
- Utilize and follow developer-provided documentation to build and configure server/system hardware and software to baseline specifications.
- Research technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions.
- Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed.
- Provide timely updates to appropriate team leaders, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts.
- Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external team members and customers as needed.
- Identify developer-documentation errors and provide appropriate channels / personnel for correction.
- Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problems and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems.
- Perform evening shift work and weekend duty as needed to meet off-hour mission activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain one
- Must meet one of the following education and experience combinations: High school diploma and 12 years of experience, Associate's degree and 10 years, Bachelor's degree and 8 years, or Master's degree and 6 years
- Must have 7 years of directly related IT experience including system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Must have 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role
- Must have strong knowledge of storage technologies including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and backup solutions
- Must have familiarity with storage management tools such as NetApp, EMC, Dell, or IBM
- Must have experience with storage protocols such as iSCSI, FC, NFS, or SMB
- Must have experience deploying servers and systems using VMware 7.0 or higher
- Must have Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 administration experience via CLI
- Must possess a DoD 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with Ansible automation
- Experience implementing Multi-Factor Authentication
- Knowledge of NetApp storage, HP server hardware, and network troubleshooting
- Background in DoD communications systems or MDIOC operations
- Project management experience
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
