In this mission-driven role, you will support the emotional and social well-being of military-connected children in a K-12 educational setting.
You will deliver short-term, non-medical counseling to students while working closely with families, educators, and military leadership to foster resilience and healthy development.
What You'll Do
As a School-Based Child and Youth Counselor (MFLC), you will:
- Provide in-person, solution-focused counseling services to children of active-duty service members
- Deliver individual, group, and classroom-based behavioral support sessions
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and school staff on behavioral concerns and interventions
- Conduct wellness training and briefings on stress management, deployment transitions, grief, and coping skills
- Participate in youth programs, summer camps, or special outreach assignments as needed
- Align services with DoD goals and school initiatives while maintaining strict confidentiality and program integrity
- Adhere to all school district protocols and Department of Defense (DoD) standards
- Full-time, on-site at Fort Sill-area K-12 schools
- Work hours follow the local academic calendar and school schedule
- Occasional participation in after-hours youth activities and events may be required
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline
- Active, unrestricted clinical license in the U.S.:
- LCSW / LICSW
- LPC
- LMFT
- LCPC
- LMHC
- Not eligible: LMSW, LADC, associate-level, or supervised licenses
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in clinical or school-based settings
- U.S. Citizenship and English fluency required
- Must successfully complete a federal background investigation and any base-specific suitability screenings
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage youth, parents, educators, and leadership
- Previous MFLC program or military family support experience
- Familiarity with educational environments and school-based behavioral programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Understanding of military life and its impact on children and families
- Be part of a mission-focused team improving military family quality of life
- Deliver impactful services in a low-documentation, high-engagement environment
- Work on-site in school communities that benefit from your expertise
- Support children through deployments, moves, and life changes
- Help shape the future by supporting those who serve
