The Supply Technician tasks include limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Support supply, property book functions, and logistics support functions at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD .

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a Government designated warehouse facility, supply room, or other designated storage areas for the temporary storage of project and excess materiel pending ultimate disposition. Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Maintain and manage Annual, Quarterly and Monthly inventories; ensure all have been received, posted, and properly closed out.
  • Maintain and manage all supporting documentation for the Property Book (PB). Tasks will include scanning documents and uploading within the unit's shared file and hand receipt.
  • Maintain and manage suspense files for all inventories (annual, monthly, and quarterly) and all documents that have an assigned document number. This will include issues, Electronic Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (eFLIPL), lateral transfers, and all turn-in documentation. Also included are DA Form 1150s created within the PB Office when requested by a losing/gaining hand receipt holders with the approval in writing.
  • Maintain and manage equipment turn-in documents, logs, track incoming equipment and supplies for all mission sets.
  • Complete the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) turn-ins of excess property book items.
  • Periodically destroy (cutting, breaking, mutilating/burying) commercial software and user-data media (such as disks, tapes, CDs). The destroyed media shall be disposed of in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Assemble and Disassemble furniture and other equipment, in accordance with associated assembly instructions or guidance.
  • Provide escort service to non-DAC and/or ARL to include non-DOD personnel, in support of facilities/grounds and equipment maintenance, and related efforts associated with DAC buildings and compounds. Escorting shall be accomplished in accordance with DOD, Army, and local security policies, regulations, and guidance.
  • Arrange and oversee the shredding/destruction of documents. Periodically schedule appointments with either a contract shredding service or the DAC Document Control shredding capability. Transport the documents needing to be shred to the shredding location, ensure the documents are prepared for shredding in accordance with local policies and procedures, and ensure the documents are properly destroyed.
  • Ensure the shipping and receiving of equipment and supplies to all DAC sections including outlying areas.
  • Ensure all equipment maintenance is tracked and performed with prescribed timelines to ensure high state of equipment readiness for training and mission sets.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Must posses valid State Driver's License.
  • Minimum four (4) years of supply technician experience.
  • Secret Clearance


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good working knowledge of the governing supply system, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect necessary data, to establish the facts, and to recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of the governing supply systems, program, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions in logistics operations
  • Prior experience and knowledge with automated warehouse inventory systems is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance and access to work location.
  • Ability to must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
