Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a National Defense Contract through 100% remote presence . The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will support a global network by maintaining secure infrastructure, modernizing, monitoring systems, and leading migration from legacy environments to containerized & virtualized platforms.

Responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer include:

• Operate & maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure - ensuring reliability & compliance
• Lead legacy environment discovery & migration, assessing routing, configurations, and WAN requirements
• Design & modernize network monitoring dashboards & data ingestion pipelines
• Support & enhance virtualized & containerized environments using tools like Kubernetes, VMware & KVM
• Implement & maintain network performance optimization strategies using monitoring tools & analytics
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate monitoring data into SIEM platforms & meet DOD compliance standards
• Document technical designs, diagrams, and workflows using wiki platforms & diagramming tools
• Troubleshoot & resolve complex infrastructure issues, occasionally working non-standard shifts to meet migration goals

Qualifications of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer include:

• 12+ years of experience & a Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ years of experience & a Master's Degree
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes & container infrastructure for running network monitoring & management applications
• Proficient with the ELK stack (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) for data ingestion, processing, and visualization
• Strong working knowledge of Linux & Red Hat (esp: Red Hat Satellite)
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM & VSAN
• Familiar with enterprise network management tools like Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos Space
• Demonstrated ability to harden network infrastructure using DOD STIGs & integrate monitoring data into SIEM platforms
• IAT Level II (Security +)
• Active Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Senior Infrastcture Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $130,000-140,000 **depending on experience**
