Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Network Security Engineer to support an U.S. Army Network program in Sierra Vista, AZ. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining secure, enterprise-level network solutions and supporting 24/7 operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in network security, firewall management, and enterprise network optimization.

Location: Onsite - Sierra Vista, AZ
Contract/Program: New 5 year long U.S. Army contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain secure network infrastructure for the U.S. Army's centralized enterprise network
- Support 24x7x365 operations and provide updates to the Global Cyber Center (GCC)
- Perform policy and configuration changes, remediation, and pre-approved workflows
- Manage and triage service tickets using JIRA Service Desk and GCC ServiceNow
- Provide situational awareness and status updates on ticket resolution
- Escalate complex issues to higher-tier teams as needed
- Conduct legacy environment discovery and provide Tier III support for Army global networks
- Identify and implement network optimization strategies to meet performance standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's degree with 6+ years (additional experience may substitute for degree)
- Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+)
- Experience supporting Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls (NGFW)
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and Red Hat
- Hands-on experience with InfoVista
- Experience with at least two of the following vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Dell, AppGate
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts: LAN, WAN, BGP, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Routing (L2/L3), Firewalls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
- Experience with Linux shell scripting
- Familiarity with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with NetSecOps tools: Salt, Git, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet
- Network Performance Management tools: SNMP, NETMON, LiveAction
- Experience with tools such as Netflow, Elastic, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, Nexus Repo
- Expertise in designing and improving complex, geographically distributed enterprise networks
- Deep knowledge of U.S. Army network security requirements
Compensation:
- Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 (based on experience and education)
