Job Description:
TEKsystems is seeking a Software Configuration Manager to oversee the configuration, documentation, and version control of critical software systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and who understands the intersection of configuration management and Information Assurance (IA) principles in secure environments.
You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and traceability of software baselines throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that security, compliance, and quality standards are met for our DoD and federal programs.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and maintain software configuration management (SCM) processes, tools, and documentation in accordance with customer and project requirements.
-Establish and enforce configuration control policies for software baselines, including versioning, builds, and releases.
-Maintain the integrity and security of configuration items in accordance with information assurance best practices.
-Coordinate configuration audits and verify compliance with government and program standards.
-Collaborate with development, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and QA teams to support software lifecycle activities.
-Implement automation tools and scripts to improve traceability, reproducibility, and deployment processes.
-Support documentation and artifact management in compliance with RMF and other regulatory frameworks.
-Provide reporting on configuration status, accounting, and change control processes to leadership and clients.
Required Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
-A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
-Demonstrated experience in software configuration management within a secure or federal environment.
-Familiarity with information assurance (IA) principles and their application in software/system security.
-Proficiency with SCM tools such as Git, GitLab CI/CD pipeline, Subversion, or equivalent platforms.
-Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management, and baseline control.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and documentation.
-IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience supporting DoD or federal programs, including compliance with RMF, NIST, or DoD STIGs.
-Knowledge of Agile or DevSecOps methodologies.
-Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or Certified Configuration Manager (CCM).
-Experience with automated build and deployment pipelines, CI/CD, or containerized environments (e.g., Docker).
• This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
