About Chainalysis Government Solutions
Chainalysis Government Solutions (CGS) is a wholly-owned Chainalysis subsidiary that provides blockchain intelligence solutions, including technology, training, and services to law enforcement, defense, intelligence and regulatory customers across the U.S. Government.
Blockchain technology is powering a growing wave of innovation. Businesses and governments around the world are using blockchains to make banking more efficient, connect with their customers, investigate criminal cases and track transnational threats. As the adoption of blockchain technology grows, more and more organizations seek access to all this ecosystem has to offer. That’s where Chainalysis comes in. We provide complete knowledge of what’s happening on blockchains through our data, services, and solutions. With Chainalysis, organizations can navigate blockchains safely and with confidence.
As a Blockchain Data Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of blockchain analytics, technical solution delivery, and our government customers’ most critical missions. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with federal investigators, analysts, and operational teams to uncover illicit activity on the blockchain and ensure our technology is effectively integrated into investigative workflows. This hands-on role supporting national security and law enforcement missions is ideal for mission-driven technologists with deep government experience, strong analytical skills, and the technical aptitude to operationalize tools in mission-critical environments. Your curiosity, creativity, and investigative mindset will help anticipate emerging threats, surface actionable intelligence, and shape the future of blockchain-enabled investigations.

In this role, you will:
Conduct complex blockchain forensic analysis to identify patterns of illicit behavior, surface investigative leads, and support customer missions
Deliver analytical findings to clients through well-structured reports, tailored presentations, and consultative briefings that support our clients’ decision processes
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions aligned with investigative and mission requirements
Translate investigative priorities into technical workflows and actionable leads for mission partners, providing expert guidance on how to apply blockchain analytics to real-world cases
Provide hands-on support for deployment, integration, and optimization of blockchain analytics tools across investigative and regulatory environments
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product, customer success, investigations) to refine tools and data for our customers’ use cases
Identify recurring patterns in customer needs and contribute to reusable solutions, deployment templates, and playbooks

We’re looking for candidates who have:
Active Top Secret clearance (or higher)
3+ years of direct experience supporting federal law enforcement or intelligence investigations, either in an analytical role or a technical advisory capacity
Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, R, or other scripting and analytical tools to analyze large, complex datasets
Ability to work on-site with our Federal clients in the Washington, D.C. area
Demonstrated ability to work alongside government personnel to align tools, data, and workflows with investigative outcomes and operational priorities
Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in mission-critical contexts, delivering technical findings through well-structured reports, tailored presentations, and ongoing consultative dialogue
Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency investigations, or related analytics tools, such as Chainalysis Reactor
A strong investigative mindset and the ability to think creatively to uncover hidden relationships and behavioral patterns, with the ability to operate autonomously in dynamic, mission-driven settings
Intellectual curiosity and drive to stay ahead of emerging trends in blockchain technology and illicit cryptocurrency activities
Bachelor’s degree

The strongest candidates will have:
Master’s degree in a technical, analytical, or investigative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Intelligence Studies, or Criminal Justice
Knowledge of financial crime typologies such as money laundering, sanctions evasion, or ransomware operations
Background in consulting, solution delivery, or technical support within federal environments
Experience supporting cross-functional missions involving investigators, engineers, analysts, and external stakeholders
Experience supporting the deployment, integration, or troubleshooting of technical tools in secure or operational environments
Understanding of investigative priorities in cybercrime, counterintelligence, sanctions enforcement, or national security cases
