These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.
You will be responsible for all aspects for the design the electrical wiring and interconnection system for aircraft flight test instrumentation.
• Receive and implement requirements from systems and flight test engineering organizations.
• Interpret flight test equipment electrical interface control documents to determine system interconnection requirements
• Select interconnection components (connectors, wire, cable, backshells, splices, harness supports, etc.)
• Create system wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, harness bill of materials
• Ensure aircraft safety is it not degraded by the implementation and installation of the wiring system
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers for the installation of flight test and wiring systems
• Liaison support for the flight test instrumentation team
• Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
Must-haves:
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Familiar with use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g. 3DExperience, Enovia SmarTeam, Teamcenter)
• Experience with logical and harness design CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, ECAD, Capital Logic, HarnessXC, Zuken)
• Familiar with system safety principles and hazard mitigation methods
• Ability to effectively communicate interconnection systems requirements to other engineering disciplines
• Desing experience with large transport category aircraft (14 CFR, Part 25)
• Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
