Position Overview

Venatore is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer / Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team supporting U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) J6 at MacDill AFB. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and maintenance of secure, mission-critical web and software applications and infrastructure. As part of a collaborative and innovative team, you will contribute directly to the delivery and operations of custom enterprise applications and services that enable CENTCOM's successful mission execution.

Description of Duties

• Design and develop robust, high-performance web-based applications and services that transform user requirements into effective solutions.
• Plan, develop, and maintain web infrastructure, applications, APIs, and web services to support critical command and control systems.
• Analyze code, conduct reviews, and work closely with subject matter experts to deliver technically sound and secure solutions.
• Determine user and system requirements, define programming techniques, and create operating instructions and end-user guides.
• Ensure all solutions are designed and implemented in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) security standards and compliance requirements.
• Develop software solutions utilizing ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript, emphasizing adherence to security and performance objectives.
• Troubleshoot application-related and integration issues, including Active Directory authentication integration with IIS servers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for the seamless development and deployment of applications, including integration with cloud-based services for optimized delivery.
• Create, optimize, and troubleshoot stored procedures in SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.
• Perform scheduled administration and maintenance of IIS web servers, ensuring system reliability and compliance with security standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. An equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience may be substituted.
• At least 5 years of practical experience as a web developer, cloud developer, or software engineer, demonstrating progressive responsibility in application design and delivery.
• Proficiency in ASP.NET, C#.NET, and JavaScript for web application and web service development.
• Strong experience in SQL Server development, stored procedures, and T-SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage MVC, JSON, JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3 for modern web development.
• Competence in developing applications compatible with security standards and compliant with DoD 8570 (CompTIA certification required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate and document technical requirements.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing and migrating cloud applications, with a preference for Azure platform expertise.
• Familiarity with OAuth authorization protocols in ASP.Net Core for secure authentication and authorization.
• Experience utilizing Azure DevOps or GitLab for CI/CD pipeline management, version control, and team collaboration.
• Understanding of U.S. Department of Defense security standards, policies, and procedures.
• Familiarity with service desk ticketing systems and incident escalation processes.

• This is an onsite position supporting the Headquarters, U.S. Central Command J6 at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida.
• Candidates must demonstrate flexibility to work in a dynamic, mission-focused environment and willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10%.
