Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a self-motivated Mid-Level or Senior Electrical Components Laboratory Engineer to work at the Heath, Ohio location dedicated to electrical components test needs of the ICBM Minuteman III Program in a dedicated Failure Analysis Lab. The candidate will be an extension of the Huntington Beach CA Failure Analysis Lab Team where additional support to the candidate is available.

This position requires a candidate with experience in performing laboratory electrical testing in support of failure analysis assessments based on industry & military standards and methods on electrical, electronic, & electro-mechanical (EEE) parts and components used in hi-reliable applications. The candidate is required to work with senior engineers and management developing lab evaluation plans, report findings and presentations. This is a position that requires background in electrical engineering.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Primary - Be able to setup and perform complicated electrical testing; DC/AC parametric, RF parametric (Insertion Loss, etc.).
  • Primary - Know how to use network analyzers, oscilloscopes, various power supplies, curve tracer, etc.
  • Primary - Automation using LabView software
  • Primary - Understanding failure mechanisms of EEE parts, plastic encapsulated microcircuits/devices (PEMs & PEDs) and automotive grade AEC parts
  • Analyze data, make recommendations, and write comprehensive reports
  • Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
  • Develop and maintain laboratory processes and instructions
  • Implement lean principles and technologies


Experience in analyzing EEE parts utilizing the following inspection equipment:
  • Electrical tests IAW Military & Industry Standards and Methods; Manufacturing data sheets
  • Use of LabView, Python, National Instruments
  • Use network analyzers, oscilloscopes, various power supplies, curve tracer, etc.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years' experience in EEE parts and component testing, electrical DC/AC parametric Testing


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in electrical & electronic engineering, electrical engineering technology, Computer Engineering, or Physics
  • LabView & Python extensive/complicated programming, Failure Analysis of EEE Parts, Destruct Physical Analysis (DPA) of EEE Parts, or Construction Analysis of EEE Parts
  • Use Impedance analyzer, LCR meter, micrometer/electrometer, and data acquisition cards


Typical Education/Experience:

(Level 3)

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' or Master and 3+ years' work experience.

(Level 4)

Bachelor's degree and 9+ years' or Master and 7+ years' work experience.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (level 3): $95,200 - $128,800

Summary pay range (Level 4): $116,450 - $157,550
