Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking an Operations and Sustainment Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the IRES contract at Schriever Space Force Base. This position is responsible for leading a team in providing IT support across multiple locations, ensuring mission continuity, and proactively managing system sustainment and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will manage a team of engineers and administrators in supporting customer IT requirements across multiple mediums and three distinct locations. Responsibilities include monitoring and allocating resources for break/fix issues, new installations, and external support at off-site locations. The role also involves coordination with matrixed project teams, assessing risk and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure operational readiness, and managing technology refresh and procurement timelines. Additional duties include anticipating licensing, access, and account administration needs, providing technical direction for systems development, and advising on improvements and optimization.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $129,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have a current active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive professional experience, including at least 5 years supporting enterprise or mission-critical IT environments
- At least 1 year of experience in a formal leadership, supervisory, or team lead role
- Demonstrated experience managing IT operations or sustainment efforts within a government or defense setting
- Strong technical understanding of enterprise IT systems, infrastructure support, and lifecycle management
- Proficiency in stakeholder coordination, issue escalation, and performance monitoring within multi-site operations
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience leading geographically dispersed IT support teams
- Working knowledge of DoD systems, ITIL framework, and DISA STIG compliance
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level sustainment strategies and lifecycle planning
- Experience collaborating with program control, logistics, and procurement teams
- Familiarity with matrixed team structures and cross-functional coordination
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining high operational tempo
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in customer-facing roles
- Experience with performance metrics, readiness reporting, and risk mitigation planning
- Previous experience on the IRES contract or within MDA-supported environments
Compensation:
