Orchestration Automation Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Orchestration Automation Engineer to join a National Defense Contract located in Sierra Vista, AZ through 100% onsite presence . The Orchestration Automation Engineer will develop and maintain secure network automation workflows, implementing zero trust access policies and providing Tier III operational support across enterprise network environments.

Responsibilities of the Orchestration Automation Engineer include:

• Develop & maintain automation workflows to support network operations prioritized by the Global Cyber Center (GCC)
• Provide Tier III support for secure enterprise network solutions, including on-call troubleshooting & escalation
• Implement & manage Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies to ensure secure access across the infrastructure
• Analyze & support wide area network (WAN) architecture, including underlay, overlay, and transport layers
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DOD security standards & maintain network hardening
• Integrate capacity planning & scaling strategies into operational support processes for network & security stacks
• Partner with stakeholders to assess legacy systems and contribute to network optimization & modernization efforts
• Use tools like JIRA service desk to manage tickets, escalate issues & track workflow progress

Qualifications of the Orchestration Automation Engineer include:

• 8+ years of experience & a Bachelor's Degree
• 6+ years of experience & a Master's Degree
• Experience with Cisco SD-WAN and/or Palo Alto NGFW
  • Familiar with vendor technologies like Juniper & Dell
• Strong understanding of network protocols such as LAN, WAN, BGP, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, & routing (L2/L3)
• Familiar with network automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Git, Puppet)
• Hands-on experience with virtualized infrastructure and SecDevOps practices including Ci/CD pipelines & GitLab
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture and tools like AppGate
• IAT Level II certification (Security +)
• Active Secret Clearance
