Senior Orchestration Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Orchestration Engineer to join a National Defense Contract through 100% remote presence . The Senior Orchestration Engineer will support an enterprise network by managing secure network solutions, modernizing monitoring infrastructure, and leading migration efforts from legacy systems to virtualized, containerized environments.

Responsibilities of the Senior Orchestration Engineer include:

• Operate & maintain secure enterprise network solutions to ensure high availability & performance
• Lead legacy network discovery & migration efforts, assessing routing, configurations, and requirements for global WAN transformation
• Design & modernize network monitoring dashboards & data ingestion pipelines using tools like Elastic, Logstash, & Kibana (ELK)
• Support & modify virtualized & containerized infrastructure (Kubernetes, VMware) for network management applications
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate monitoring data into SIEM platforms & ensure DOD compliance
• Analyze performance metrics to identify network optimization & resource management strategies
• Document technical designs, diagrams, and workflows using wiki platforms & diagramming tools
• Troubleshoot & resolve complex network issues, occasionally working non-standard shifts to support migration timelines

Qualifications of the Senior Orchestration Engineer include:

• 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ years of experience with a Master's Degree
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container infrastructure for running network monitoring applications
• Proficiency with ELK stack (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) for data ingestion, processing, and visualization
• Strong understanding of Linux systems, SNMP v3, and performance/event management protocols
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM
• Familiar with enterprise network management tools like Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos Space
• Demonstrated ability to harden network infrastructure using DOD STIGs & troubleshoot complex network issues in a team environment
• IAT Level II certification (Security+)

Compensation for the Senior Orchestration Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $125,000-130,000 **depending on experience**
