Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lead Database Architect to join a Federal Program. The Lead Database Architect requires hands-on leadership in database design, architecture, performance tuning, and application integration.
Responsibilities of the Lead Database Architect include:
· Architect and deploy Oracle database solutions that are scalable, secure, and highly available.
· Drive architectural decisions for Oracle 19c and related enterprise technologies.
· Write and fine-tune advanced SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and object types.
· Lead Oracle APEX development efforts and ensure smooth backend integration.
· Monitor and manage Oracle environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and its associated agent.
· Configure and maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication and its OEM plugin components.
· Set up and support Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) and Oracle WebLogic Server.
· Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize performance and plan for capacity needs.
· Provide mentorship to database engineers and promote best practices in Oracle development and administration.
· Maintain database security, ensure compliance, and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Qualifications for the Lead Database Architect include:
· At least 10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database design, development, and administration.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
· Mastery of Oracle RDBMS, ideally version 19c.
· Practical experience with Oracle APEX, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), OEM Agent, and the Oracle GoldenGate OEM Plugin.
· Solid understanding of Oracle REST Data Services and Oracle WebLogic Server.
· Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, including analytical functions and performance optimization.
· Extensive experience with PL/SQL, including building and maintaining advanced procedures, packages, and object types.
· Familiarity with Linux operating systems and deploying Oracle on Linux platforms.
· Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with a background in leading technical teams and mentoring junior staff.
· Strategic mindset for managing database architecture and lifecycle.
· Proven leadership in guiding technical teams and supporting junior developers.
· Oracle certifications such as Oracle Certified Master (OCM) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are a plus.
· Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in database development workflows.
· Experience with Oracle cloud technologies or involvement in cloud migration initiatives.
· Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
Compensation for the Lead Database Architect includes:
· Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
