Our work depends on the Network Infrastructure Technician - Tier 1 joining our team to support all aspects of network operations activities and projects for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL.

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Assist in the maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of our network systems, ensuring efficient and secure operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical staff and coordinate effectively across teams.
• This is an entry-level in network administration, offering growth opportunities and hands-on experience with network hardware, software, and various IT tools

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: High school diploma
• Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
• Required Skills and Abilities:
  
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities over time.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, and familiarity with network hardware.
  • Assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software, ensuring connectivity for all devices and end-users.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing network issues
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally with non-technical staff.
  • Respond to user inquiries and issues related to network connectivity, performing basic diagnostics, and escalating more complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of network configurations, incidents, and changes in network topology.
  • Update network diagrams, inventories, and other related documentation.
  • Work closely with senior network technicians, IT support, and other departments to ensure seamless network operations and assist with ongoing projects.
  • Basic understanding of network security concepts.
  • Basic understanding of VPN Technologies (IPSEC, DMVPN, S2S, L3VPN, VPLS)
  • Basic understanding of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance
• Preferred Skills:
  
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Cisco Certified CCNA, CCNP
  • Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission
  • Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM's IT environment
• Location: Onsite-Tampa, FL
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI clearance is required.
