We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to support a newly established program office responsible for the construction and delivery of U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) cutters. This role is essential in ensuring that shipbuilding activities meet rigorous quality standards and that all issues are properly documented, tracked, and resolved throughout the production lifecycle.
You will contribute to national maritime readiness by validating construction quality, supporting testing events, and maintaining comprehensive records within the Technical Support Management (TSM) system or a similar QA tool.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and document ship construction quality to ensure compliance with contract and engineering standards.
Support testing and inspection events throughout the cutter production cycle.
Manage deficiency records and support resolution efforts using the TSM system.
Assist in preparing QA documentation and reports in alignment with program requirements.
Work closely with shipyard teams, engineering personnel, and government QA representatives.
Position Levels & Requirements:
Senior QA Specialist:
Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience, specifically in shipbuilding or marine construction.
In-depth understanding of ship construction practices and QA procedures.
Experience supporting QA during both production and testing phases.
Journeyman QA Specialist:
Minimum 3 years of relevant QA experience.
Working knowledge of shipyard processes, quality standards, and QA documentation practices.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience using the TSM system or similar quality tracking tools.
Familiarity with USCG or DoD QA standards and acquisition processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in an industrial/shipyard environment.
