Cyber Red Team Pen Tester - Mid (TS/SCI)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cyber Red Team Penetration Tester to support the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron (48 CTS - Delta 12) at Peterson Space Force Base. This role involves conducting penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and cybersecurity assessments for the U.S. Air and Space Forces. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern penetration testing tools and techniques, and a strong foundation in cybersecurity analysis.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Interview Process: Scenario Interview followed by a panel interview

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security evaluations
• Perform system security analysis on software and systems to identify vulnerabilities
• Execute hands-on testing across multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and software platforms (e.g., Apache, SQL Server, Oracle)
• Develop test tools and strategies for DoD cybersecurity testing
• Provide technical guidance and support to penetration testing teams
• Document and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support planning and execution of CVI, ACD, and CVPA activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3-10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
• Must have or be able to obtain DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP, CISSP, ISSEP) within 6 months of hire
• Experience with penetration testing tools and techniques
• Experience testing and exploiting web applications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux (including Kali) operating systems
• Ability to work with DoD program offices to scope, plan, and report on penetration tests

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience leading penetration testing teams or events
• Knowledge of source code vulnerability analysis
• Familiarity with network security, wired/wireless protocols
• Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, PHP)
• Knowledge of compiled languages (C, C++, Assembly, Java)
• Relevant certifications: CISSP, CASP, OSCP, OSEP, OSWA, OSWE, OSED, OSCE, GCIH, GPEN, GWAPT

Compensation:

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 (based on experience and education)
