Defense Health Subject Matter Expert

Overview

Nakupuna Services is seeking a Defense Health Subject Matter Expert (SME). The Defense Health Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides high-level advisory and analytical support for readiness support services. The ideal candidate brings deep domain knowledge and experience in providing healthcare delivery for federal agency civilians, military personnel, retirees, and families. This position will support specific task orders requiring expert insight and is expected to engage directly with senior government stakeholders and integrated project teams.

• Provide subject matter expertise in Defense Health support, including delivery of world-class health care to all DoD or other federal agency military or civilian members, retirees, and families.
• Lead or support the development of policy recommendations, operational strategies, and implementation plans.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform leadership decisions.
• Support the development of briefings, reports, and written products.
• Advise Government clients on best practices, program risks, and operational impacts.
• Participate in working groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Provide peer review and quality assurance for technical deliverables.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the following areas:
  • Supporting the medically-related readiness for DoD or other federal agency policies, programs, and activities.
  • Supporting policy formulation and program oversight of the military or other federal agency health system.
  • Supporting the delivery of health benefits to service members, civilians, retirees, survivors, and their families.
  • Working in a joint or interagency environment requiring close collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's or doctoral degree preferred.

Clearance Requirements: Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred or required based on task order.

Location: Varies by task order. May include on-site at the Pentagon or other federal sites. Remote work is possible based on client needs and approval.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation :

• Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
• Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
