ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Administrator, Senior to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborates on and supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security
  • Possess deep technical expertise in advanced database technologies, architecture, and design principles, providing expert guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators
  • Lead complex performance tuning initiatives, optimize database configurations for peak performance, and implement comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure business continuity and data resilience
  • Collaborate with Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to design and implement efficient data models, advanced database solutions, and data migration strategies
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of stringent database security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide direction and mentorship to subordinate staff

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree and 7 years of experience OR a PhD and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • High School diploma and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of position-specific relevant experience.
  • Experience in database administration, with a proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining database systems.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data warehousing. Expertise in SQL and database design. Proficiency in database administration tools for various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Knowledge of database security best practices and access control mechanisms. Experience with data backup and recovery procedures. Understanding of data modeling and schema design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database issues. Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize database operations.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.
  • Database vendor certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Master (OCM), Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer-Associate, AWS Certified Database Specialty).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting DoD programs and with cloud-based technologies, Risk Management Framework, and Zero Trust Architecture. Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and their applications. Experience with database automation and scripting, data integration, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles and tools. Experience with Digital Twin technology and its application in data management. ITIL Foundation certificate. Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus. Certifications related to specific data science tools and technologies (e.g., cloud certifications for machine learning services, certifications in specific programming languages or statistical software). CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), And Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP). Relevant database certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)-Data Management and Analytics).
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
