McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center for the NUWC Keyport Detachment San Diego. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the United States Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule driven environment.
• A bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering or higher.
• A professional license may also be necessary, depending on the nature of the work (e.g., HVAC or structural engineering).
• A minimum of seven years of experience in mechanical engineering for complex systems, including design, development, integration, andtest.
• Experience in mechanical engineering development standards and techniques including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with electro-mechanical components/systems, configuration management, and computer aided design (CAD) systems. For example, experience with Solid Edge/Solid Works, or equivalent, risk identification and mitigation, MATLAB, LabVIEW, T&E analysis, electronics packaging design, and tooling and fixturing design.
• A master of science degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for two years of experience.
