LCAT: Network Switching Design Engineer Senior
We are hiring a Network Architect / Engineer. The selected candidate will work 100% on-site to support the operations of the network. They will assist the Government Lead in the daily architecture / engineering duties.
MAIN FUNCTION
• Design and Document Network Architectures
Create and maintain both classified and unclassified network architectures across multi-vendor environments. Adhere to Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements and leverage industry best practices to ensure robust, compliant designs.
• Maintain and Manage Existing Infrastructure
Oversee the day-to-day operations of globally distributed network systems with a strong emphasis on uptime, reliability, and resiliency.
• Engineer and Implement Technological Solutions
Identify, design, and deploy new capabilities that enhance network functionality and performance. Optimize existing architectures to meet evolving operational demands.
• Provide Training and Technical Support
Develop and deliver training programs on current and emerging network technologies. Offer expert-level troubleshooting and guidance to ensure efficient issue resolution.
• Serve as an Executive-Level Advisor
Act as the principal consultant to II MEF G-6 and staff on all aspects of network technology—encompassing design, procurement, engineering, security, deployment, integration, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with External Stakeholders
Collaborate with Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG), and the Program Executive Office (PEO)–Digital to align Fleet Marine Force and II MEF network requirements, ensuring successful completion and sustainment of all network initiatives.

Desired Experience:
1. Network Design and Implementation : Demonstrated expertise in designing, planning, and deploying network solutions across classified and unclassified domains, including military satellite communication (SATCOM) networks and the Fleet Marine Force Tactical Grid.
2. Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC): Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing NSA-approved CSfC architectures, serving as a recognized trusted integrator (TI) to ensure compliance with stringent security standards. Must be able to demonstrate an NSA-approved solution that the TI developed and had approved.
3. DoD Procurement and BOM Management: Strong familiarity with Department of Defense procurement processes, including quality assurance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordination with hardware value-added resellers.
4. Executive-Level Communication: History of briefing senior leadership and executive stakeholders, conveying complex technical information clearly and effectively.
5. Training and Mentorship: Proven ability to train and educate military personnel (e.g., Marines), fostering technical competencies and knowledge-sharing across diverse teams.
6. Operational Resilience and Security: Deep understanding of designing resilient networks in compliance with DoD security standards, ensuring high availability and adherence to regulatory requirements.
