Job Description
As an Electronic Technician, you will work with a team to disassemble, overhaul, reassemble and test multiple antenna assemblies. The work requires attention to detail, high quality standards, open communication, team interaction, repetitive work, inspection of new and kitted parts, and willingness to report and document data, results and defects. The applicant will interpret and work with Work Instructions, Maintenance Action Forms (MAFs) and technical drawing packages and use hand tools and various measurement tools and devices such as torque screw drivers/wrenches, multi-meters, oscilloscopes and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). Assure calibration and equipment compliance as required. The applicant must achieve BAE Systems certifications in soldering techniques and perform basic hand soldering.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $29.46/hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma
Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects (40 LBS)
Ability to travel within the United States and some limited foreign travel (up to 50%)
Ability to work at heights above 100ft on shipboard masts and radar towers
Mechanical aptitude
Familiarity with and use of hand tools
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - 10 hour certified.
Certified solder technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through-hole.
Certified cable fabricator.
Experience with solid-core and multi-pin connector/cable assembly.
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
