Job Description
This position is responsible for labeling, packing, and shipping packages in accordance with regulations set by local, state, federal, and international laws with focus on properly packaging Hazardous Materials for shipment both domestically and overseas in accordance with applicable governing materials handling requirements (e.g. 49CFR, IATA, IMDG, and/or Defense Transportation Manual). This person will also assist in the proper identification, research and certification of Hazardous Material Shipments. Duties include, but are not limited to packing various materials for shipment, blocking and bracing outgoing shipments as part of a team, researching Safety Data Sheets (SDS), maintaining logs of material packed, preparing and staging material for shipment/loading, loading material utilizing material handling equipment (MHE) up to and including forklifts, packing critical spares for shipment, repackaging material for storage. Communication with supervisors when inventory of hazardous material packaging supplies run low as well as weigh, count and pack in accordance with standard operation procedures. Prepares various routine administrative and record keeping tasks, correspondence and reports to include monthly, weekly, daily DOCUSCAN and summary emails covering requisition status MILSTRIP Orders, referrals and special reports, on and off station movements, manages and processes the issues, receipt, transaction posting for both SSP and UK Dreadnought material. Responsible for the management of the open requisition files through the final issue. Analyses, conducts causative research and reconciles differences between inventory count and stock records. Expedites all UK Dreadnought material and updates daily UK Log to reflect correct material and quantities, placing FEDEX labels and prepare shipments going to UK, provide tracking information and enters in UK CLIPS, Inputs Proof of Delivery into ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CLASP (UK accounting system). Receives weekly emails form Super User on cancellations and price changes. Produces monthly UK financial metrics.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of related/relevant work experience required: High School Diploma or GED. To be fully compliant with position requirements the candidate selected must successfully complete the two-week Technical Transportation of HAZMAT (CERT) or Ammo-62 course for Hazardous Shipment Certification within 6 months of employment start date, subject to course availability/scheduling. Must possess a valid driver's license.

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.

- Ability to lift-up to 35 pounds in weight
- 2 years Warehousing or largescale Receiving Operations
- A general understanding of supply regulations, policies and procedures of the Navy and extensive reading comprehension skills and knowledge of the logistical terminology used in the Navy Supply System
- Working knowledge of Microsoft POWERPOINT, WORD & EXCEL programs and Proficiency with internet searches for gathering reference data and SDS
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Previous Completion of Technical Transportation of HAZMAT (CERT) or Ammo-62
- 5 years Logistics experience
- Navy ERP Experience
- Knowledge of Physical Distribution Process
- Experience working with special commodities (e.g. Precious metals, Repairable Materials, Shelf life Materials, Hazardous Materials, Ordnance etc.)
