Job Description

Base-2 Solutions is looking for a talented and enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student aspiring to enter the hi-tech and/or government contracting industry to join us as a Accounting Intern for Summer/fall 2025. This internship will allow you to collaborate with professionals to tackle real accounting and Finance challenges, get acclimated with an accounting system for reporting and understand accounting compliance. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, are eager to learn, and able to commit 20 - 25 hours a week through December 2025. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily accounting operations including data entry and invoice processings.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes including financial analysis and forecast.
  • Organize folders and maintain records in compliance with FAR, DCAA, and GAAP standards.
  • Assist with requests from external accountants on financials review, audit preparation, tax filing, provisional billing rates, and incurred cost submission.
  • Review and reconcile empoyee expense reports and company credit card transactions.
  • Provide support in tracking project costs and indrect rates.
  • Help ensure vendor compliance with W-9, 1099, and invoice requirements.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Coursework in government accounting or cost accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Organizaed, detail-oriented, and self-driven with the ability to work independelty and in teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in government contracting, emerging technologies, or national security is a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
