As a Systems Engineer, you’ll support the development of modeling and simulation software and services for air and missile defense systems. You’ll work collaboratively within the Warfighter Simulation and Services (WSS) Agile Release Train (ART), contributing to the design, development, testing, documentation, and integration of simulation products.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and refining requirements and system documentation
Testing new capabilities and documenting newly implemented features
Analyzing simulation performance for system optimization
Supporting technical events, demos, and training sessions with WSS customers
Delivering technical briefings and presentations to key stakeholders
Is This You?
Level I: 0–5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in STEM, or 0 years with a Master’s
Level II: Minimum 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in STEM, or 0 years with a Master’s
Active DoD Secret clearance (with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI)
Ability to travel up to 10%
Experience working with complex software systems
Experienced with development lifecycles, including the V-model of systems engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
Familiarity with the Missile Defense System mission
High technical problem-solving aptitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write scripts to automate processes (e.g., quality checks, data formatting)
Core Skills
Systems Engineering & Modeling:
Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC), requirements derivation, and MBSE methodologies
Experience with Cameo for MBSE modeling and simulation
Modeling & Simulation (M&S) for missile defense systems (preferred)
Agile Development & Tools:
Agile and SAFe development methodologies
Atlassian Suite: Jira, Confluence
Configuration Management, Data Management, and Quality Assurance processes
IT Infrastructure & Security:
Understanding of software design performance, IT infrastructures, networks, and cloud solutions
Familiarity with security principles (Security+ certification strongly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in software development, especially within Agile or SAFe environments
Modeling & Simulation (M&S) experience (configuring, executing, analyzing results)
Experience in applying model-based methodologies to process management
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML/UML, Cameo)
Experience with Unix/Linux OS
Program experience within the Missile Defense Agency elements (GMD, Aegis BMD, C2BMC, etc.)
Certifications (preferred):

OCSMP Model User
