Summit Human Capital Federal is seeking a driven and experienced IT Project Manager to join our team supporting the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR). This is a Full-time on-site role that plays a critical part in supporting mission-essential operations based out of the Pentagon (NMCC).
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, plan, and execute small to mid-sized IT projects across classified federal environments.
• Direct cross-functional teams, including vendors and internal stakeholders, to meet project goals, timelines, and customer requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project execution, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are tightly managed.
• Create and manage comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, and status reports.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and technical teams.
• Coordinate project objectives, goals, and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track project risks, dependencies, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with contract and compliance standards.
• Provide timely and informative communication, including dashboards, weekly status updates, and executive summaries.
• Mentor junior project staff and contribute to PMO process improvement.
• Ensure adherence to ITIL and organizational best practices in service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in IT programs, preferably within federal or DoD environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or a related field (master’s degree + 3 years may substitute for experience or no degree w/ 10 years’ experience ).
• PMP Certification is mandatory.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong understanding of project management tools and methodologies (MS Project, WBS, Gantt Charts, Agile/Waterfall).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Experience managing diverse, multi-vendor project teams across multiple work centers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Familiarity with ITIL v4 principles is a plus.
