The C-12 / King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12/ King Air 200/350/ 1900 aircraft.

(*Level of Aircraft Mechanic is based on years of specific C-12 hands-on A&P mechanic experience, details below in Minimum Requirements).
  • A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of experience on the assigned MDS aircraft C-12/ King Air Beechcraft 200/350/1900. *(Beechcraft 200 experience is desired).
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance, and for base and facility access.
  • Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of experience on the assigned MDS aircraft C-12/ King Air 200/350/1900 aircraft. (The Holloman site prefers Beechcraft B-200 experience but not required).
  • AM-1 - Two (2) Years A&P experience is Required, with two (2) or more years of specific hands-on C-12 /King Air experience preferred.
  • AM-2 -Five (5) years of A&P mechanic experience with Five (5) years of specific C-12/King Air hands-on experience required.
  • AM-3 - Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience required, with Thirteen (13) years of specific C-12 hands-on experience required under the Union CBA
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Valid US Passport.
  • Mechanic Tools are Required; Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox. Toolbox to be shadowed and tools must be etched with Mechanic PID. (Recruiter will provide details).
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA), occassional TDY travel may be requested.


A&P Mechanic Medical Requirement:
  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within 10 feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed 5 years.


Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.


Physical and Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.
  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
