You Are

A Technical Editor supporting the U.S. Army Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, KY, providing dedicated administrative and documentation support for the SEAP Program. The Technical Editor must be highly organized, detail oriented, and an excellent communicator.

How You Will Make an Impact

You will play a critical role in ensuring internal processes, training records, certifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related program documents are properly developed, tracked, updated, and maintained. The Technical Writer works collaboratively with program staff to support onboarding, compliance, and knowledge management.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, edit, and maintain a variety of technical and administrative documents, including but not limited to SOPs, work instructions, manuals, charts, and reports.
  • Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements; maintain accurate records and generate reports for program leadership as needed.
  • Support onboarding and in-processing for new team members, including preparing and distributing orientation materials and checklists.
  • Assist the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, and other staff with research, data gathering, and preparation of briefing materials.
  • Develop and maintain program-specific documentation repositories, ensuring version control and accessibility.
  • Create visual aids, process flowcharts, and summaries to support clear communication of program information.
  • Provide administrative support for program meetings, including preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and distributing action items.
  • Assist with internal audits and quality assurance activities by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and current.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and clarify technical details for documentation purposes.
  • Perform other related administrative and documentation duties as assigned.

Here's What You Need
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in technical writing, administrative support, or related documentation roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with document management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Bonus Points If
  • Experience supporting government contracts or defense-related programs.
  • Familiarity with compliance tracking systems and training management tools.
  • Basic understanding of quality assurance principles and document control standards.
