BridgePhase is seeking a DevSecOps Lead to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in security compliance, automation tooling, and cloud infrastructure, with strong technical leadership skills and the ability to drive complex DevSecOps implementations while mentoring team members. This role combines advanced security and infrastructure expertise with technical leadership and solution architecture. This is a remote position.

In this position, you can expect to:

  • Lead DevSecOps initiatives and establish security-first development practices
  • Design and implement automated security monitoring tools and processes
  • Architect CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls and automated testing
  • Drive technical decisions for infrastructure and cloud deployment strategies
  • Establish DevSecOps standards and security compliance best practices
  • Provide technical oversight for security implementation and incident response
  • Lead security code reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Design and implement scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications
  • Optimize platform security, performance, and scalability
  • Provide architectural support for ATO-related activities
  • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and industry trends
  • Collaborate with internal DHS teams on infrastructure requirements and implementation
  • Interface with stakeholders, contractors, and third-party vendors on system integration
  • Support Section 508 compliance and accessibility requirements
  • Mentor development team members on security practices and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Lead technical discovery and estimation efforts for security initiatives

As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile candidates who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • At least 15 years of total professional experience with 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, security engineering, or infrastructure automation
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in:
    • Security compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)
    • Security regulations and best practices implementation
    • Incident response planning and execution
    • Security automation and tooling development
    • Threat detection and monitoring systems
    • Vulnerability management and remediation
    • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
    • Automated testing strategies and security testing integration
    • Code quality and security scanning tools
    • Release management and deployment automation
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
    • Container security and orchestration
    • AWS services and cloud security architecture
    • Scalable infrastructure design and management
    • Container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) with security controls
    • Database security and encryption strategies
    • Network security and monitoring (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
    • Identity and access management (IAM) systems
    • Security information and event management (SIEM) tools
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in:
    • Leading cross-functional technical teams
    • Mentoring developers and security professionals
    • Communicating complex security concepts to stakeholders
    • Driving architectural and security decisions
    • Managing vendor relationships and system integrations
    • Responding to and coordinating security incidents
  • Deep knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps culture transformations
