We are currently seeking a Director of Growth—a full time dedicated, strategic, and forward-thinking professional in capture management and business development—to join our executive team. This is a high-visibility, high-impact leadership position requiring sharp business acumen, technical fluency, and the ability to forge and maintain trusted relationships with U.S. defense agencies, military branches, and key industry partners. Reporting directly to the CEO & President, the Director of Growth will play a central role in shaping CompTech’s future—collaborating with fellow executives, influencing strategy, and driving mission-aligned growth in the federal sector.
Scope of Work
• The primary focus of the Director of Growth is to develop and win opportunities focused on the specific Federal Agencies that leverage CompTech’s prime capabilities and contract vehicles. This position will drive the organization's strategic growth objectives by developing and refining the understanding of customers' most important needs and creating/ leading winning capture strategies. This critical role will include responsibility for all aspects of business development of identified opportunities and work directly with strategic capture, proposal operations, pricing and partner strategy throughout the opportunity life cycle.
• Market Intelligence & Capture Strategy: Conduct in-depth analysis to identify high-value DoD opportunities and lead the development of targeted, probability-weighted capture strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives. Also important, will be influencing customer requirements, converting implicit needs into clear solution features, strengthening competitive differentiation, and crafting persuasive value propositions.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Program Management teams to support the full lifecycle of government contracts—from initiation and execution through closeout.
• Assist in preparing for contract recompetes by gathering performance data, supporting proposal development, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Regulatory Awareness & Strategic Collaboration: Stay ahead of acquisition policy and market trends affecting federal defense. Foster a collaborative team environment through active participation in team meetings and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in other functions as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years in business development and capture roles focused on the DoD market, supported by a bachelor’s degree and well-established industry and customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel frequently as needed.
• Strong proficiency with online tools used by the Government for solicitations.
• US citizenship is required for this role.
• Active or eligible for DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• US military experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience in leading large-scale federal defense and intelligence community capture efforts, both as a prime contractor and subcontractor.
• Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits and demonstrations, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, written submissions (market surveys, RFI responses, support to proposals), team leadership, etc.
• Experience presenting to senior executives, peers, and customers.
• Ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization.
• Clear, persuasive communicator, both in presentations and written content.
• Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and adjusting to changing priorities.
Salary range: $140k + incentive plan and a robust benefits package.
