We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Operator with experience in government contracting design to support our renovation and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, contribute to design documentation, ensure compliance with building codes, and work collaboratively with project managers and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify detailed 2D/3D drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
Support the design and coordination of secure facilities (SFIC-compliant) and infrastructure renovation projects
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop and revise construction documents
Assist in structural analysis, energy modeling, and code compliance assessments using appropriate software
Conduct quality control reviews of technical drawings and construction packages
Contribute to cost estimation efforts through quantity takeoffs and material lists
Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local building codes and standards
Participate in client meetings and site visits as needed
Ensure drawings and models are aligned with project specifications and deliverables
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of CAD drafting/design experience, preferably on government or DoD projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Familiarity with ICD750, DoD, and federal facility design standards
Experience with structural analysis software, energy modeling tools, and building code analysis platforms
Working knowledge of cost estimation software and techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible to obtain security clearance (if not already held)
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
