We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer with a focus on aviation modifications to join our dynamic team in Titusville, FL. This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for an individual passionate about designing, developing, and integrating complex electrical systems for special mission aircraft. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aircraft electrical systems, a strong understanding of aviation regulations, and a proven ability to contribute to critical aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and integrate electrical systems and components for aircraft modifications, upgrades, and special mission integrations.
• Generate and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, wire harness designs, and assembly layouts using CAD software.
• Perform electrical load analysis (ELA), wire routing assessments, and other critical analyses to ensure system performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure all electrical designs and modifications comply with FAA regulations (e.g., FARs Part 23, 25, 27, 29, and Supplemental Type Certificate - STC processes).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, avionics technicians, systems engineers, and project managers.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems during prototype installation, testing, and production phases.
• Develop and prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including engineering reports, compliance data, test procedures, and installation instructions.
• Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and certification efforts.
• Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes in aerospace electrical engineering.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in aviation modifications, aircraft integration, or avionics systems design.
• Proficiency in CAD software; Siemens NX experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of aircraft electrical power generation, distribution, and wiring interconnect systems (EWIS).
• Familiarity with FAA regulations (FARs) and the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process for aircraft modifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment in Titusville, FL.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems.
• Background working on a variety of aircraft platforms (fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing).
• Experience with flight test support and data analysis.
