ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael's is hiring a Strategic Engagement and Posture Planner to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. As the Strategic Engagement and Posture Planner, you will coordinate with USSOCOM on key activities related to the Experimentation Program and associated processes. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
COMPENSATION: As required by applicable law, St. Michael's Inc. provides reasonable pay ranges for positions based on labor market conditions in locations where compensation transparency is required. The base pay range for this position is $135,000 to $143,000. Final compensation may vary depending on geographic location, relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.

WHO YOU ARE
- Active Top-Secret Clearance (with ability to obtain SCI).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within Special Operations units or Special Operations staffs conducting military operational planning in support of real-world operations, exercises, and investments.
- Experience with extracting relevant guidance found in Strategic Guidance documents such as the Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), National Security Strategy (NSS), National Defense Strategy (NDS), National Military Strategy (NMS), and other relevant documents.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with USSOCOM on key activities related to the Experimentation Program and associated processes. Management of SOCNORTH's program may include formulating and planning experiments, soliciting and selecting proposed solutions for experiments, preparing for and conducting experiments, submission of experiments and proposed solutions to USSOCOM, experiment collaboration with other headquarters and agencies, and performing data analysis and interpretation of experimentation results.
- Conduct requirements analysis for SOCNORTH. Coordinate with USNORTHCOM and USSOCOM on key activities related to requirements analysis and associated processes. Activities may include formulating and planning for force structure, force capability and capacity solutions for inclusion of force requirements in SOCNORTH POM preparation.
- Contribute to planning in support of USNORTHCOM strategic planning. This includes contributing to the development of Theater Strategies, Theater Campaign Plans (TCP), Theater Posture Plans (TPP), and associated products (e.g. Commander's Estimates, Mission Analyses, etc.). Development of these products will also include reviewing staff products for accuracy and quality control as related to the strategic planning process.
- Attend planning and staff events related to USNORTHCOM strategic planning. Attendance of these events is required in order to support and coordinate the development of Theater Strategies, TCPs, TPPs, and associated products. These events will include Telcons and VTC engagements to coordinate staff actions with regards to USNORTHCOM strategies and plans. Additionally, coordination of products and planning processes will include office visits with USNORTHCOM based organizations at various locations.
- Conduct review of command and National Level Policy Guidance. Must be familiar with guidance found in documents such as the Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), National Security Strategy (NSS), National Defense Strategy (NDS), National Military Strategy (NMS), and other relevant documents. They will review policy and guidance to identify references to USNORTHCOM in order to develop requirements and solution strategies for SOCNORTH strategies and plans.
- Address external taskings via TMS, related to USNORTHCOM and USSOCOM Strategy, Plans, Requirements and Experimentation. Take action on tasks assigned through the Tasker Management System (TMS). These taskings support various planning efforts and staff processes related to the functions of the SOCNORTH staff.
- Coordinate staff activities in requirements identification and mitigating strategies. Staff activities will include identification of requirements, gap analyses, critical capability development, and development of mitigation strategies for unmet requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross TSOC coordination and information flow. Coordinate with other TSOC headquarters and agencies when required to support requirements development, gap analyses, critical capability development, and experimentation activities and processes.
- Conduct review of internal processes and functions. Contractors will routinely review SOCNORTH internal processes and functions to identify opportunities, challenges, and areas for improvement.
