ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael's is hiring an Internal Controls and Audit Remediation Analyst to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. In this role, you will lead and support the remediation of a material weakness related to intra-governmental transactions and intra-entity eliminations. You'll coordinate efforts to develop and execute project plans, support testing of controls, and create risk mitigation strategies. Remote - with occasional travel as directed by the client.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
COMPENSATION: As required by applicable law, St. Michael's Inc. provides reasonable pay ranges for remote positions based on labor market conditions in locations where compensation transparency is required. The base pay range for this remote position is $90,000 - $140,000. Final compensation may vary depending on geographic location, relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.

WHO YOU ARE
- Active Secret Clearance
- Strong foundation in financial controls, intra-governmental transactions, and federal reporting requirements
- Experienced in developing Integrated Project Plans (IPPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Cycle Memorandums (PCMs), and Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs)
- Hands-on experience conducting walkthroughs, identifying control gaps, and developing remediation strategies
- Skilled in performing Test of Design (ToD) and Test of Effectiveness (ToE) for internal controls
- Have 6+ years of federal financial management experience, including 3+ years in federal accounting
- Hold a master's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or Business Management, or a relevant certification (CPA, CISA, PMP, CGFM, or CDFM)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and execute the Integrated Project Plan (IPP) to guide Material Weakness (MW) downgrade efforts by FY2027
- Create a Process Cycle Memorandum (PCM) documenting the end-to-end process, including key controls, ITGCs, ITACs, and CUECs
- Build and maintain a Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) to assess risk and identify control gaps
- Conduct ToD and ToE for new or modified controls
- Collaborate with stakeholders and Service Providers to communicate updates and ensure ownership of necessary controls
- Update or create policies, manuals, SOPs, training materials, and presentations
