DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented and experienced public sector lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support the Amazon Web Services ("AWS") Sales and Marketing organization. This Corporate Counsel will be part of the AWS Sales and Marketing legal team and will serve as a trusted advisor to the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization, a fast-growing business that leads AWS's most strategic customer engagements across the world.
Key responsibilities in supporting GDSP include negotiating complex cloud services agreements with public sector customers; providing expert legal advice and guidance on regulatory and compliance matters related to Amazon's public sector business worldwide, including government contracting, procurement regulations, and public sector-specific laws and policies across various jurisdictions; and advising on launches of new products and tools. This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including driving simplification efforts, and innovating to modernize and scale our legal support.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- In depth knowledge of U.S. government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- Security Clearance: Preferred for Candidates to have an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- Familiar with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, or cloud services
- In-house experience at a technology or internet company
- Experience as a legal advisor to government procurement officials (particularly at the Federal level)
- Experience engaging with U.S. government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal terms of a broad range of enterprise technology commercial contracts
- Experience engaging with U.S. government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through, and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing issues
