Overview:
Creek Technologies, LLC (Creek) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated entry level Financial Analyst to join the Finance and Data team in delivering contract support to the Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). CHDS has been the nation's premier provider of Homeland Security education since 2002. The position reports to the Finance and Data Manager and will be supporting many programs across CHDS.
A successful candidate for this role will have 1) a solid understanding of data management and analysis 2) excellent organization and communication skills, and 3) a self-starter mindset. This position's primary responsibilities will revolve around Finance activities such as, but not limited to, preparing the semi-monthly invoice in collaboration with others on the team, processing weekly expense reports, monitoring spending for multiple programs, maintaining and updating expense projections, analyzing financial data, and reporting on results from analysis. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates or individuals early in their finance and/or accounting careers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate effectively to ensure on-time delivery of semi-monthly invoices
- Assist in preparing and updating organizational budgets and forecasts
- Track and monitor department and project expenditures against budget allocations
- Analyze trends and variances in revenues and expenses
- Support weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Assist in preparing budget presentations and reports for management
- Help ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations
- Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and improve budget accuracy
- Maintain and organize budget documentation and databases
- Provide administrative support for budget reviews and audits
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Close attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with budgeting principles and financial regulations is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in budgeting, accounting, or finance (internships or coursework projects also acceptable)
