Tyto Athene is searching for a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer- Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Journeyman Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer Manages and supports the daily operation of MDM solutions, including device enrollment, configuration, policy enforcement, and regular software updates to maintain system efficiency. This position works closely with senior engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure mobile devices are compliant with DoD policies, security baselines, and operational requirements.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer- Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Journeyman Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer Manages and supports the daily operation of MDM solutions, including device enrollment, configuration, policy enforcement, and regular software updates to maintain system efficiency. This position works closely with senior engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure mobile devices are compliant with DoD policies, security baselines, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots and resolves mobile device-related issues such as connectivity problems, application crashes, device compliance failures, and security alerts
- Works with senior engineers to design and implement new MDM policies, security controls, and features for mobile device management across various operating systems (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows)
- Conducts routine audits of mobile devices, confirming compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including network administrators and security personnel, to resolve device-related issues affecting mobile operations
- Assists with the management of mobile app deployments, verifying compatibility with devices and security policies
- Monitors mobile device performance and usage metrics to identify areas for improvement in device management practices and security posture.
Required:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field
- 4-9 years of experience , with at least 1-2 years supporting MDM platforms
- Expertise with MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch), or MobileIron
- Working knowledge of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android) and enterprise configurations.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and mobile device security requirements
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Hands-on experience managing device profiles and compliance policies in Microsoft Intune or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and conditional access policies
- Familiarity with STIGs, SCAP tools, and DISA compliance documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Microsoft Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate
- VMware Workspace One Certifications
- MobileIron Core or Cloud Administration
- ITIL v4 Foundations or higher
Clearance:
- Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+
