Job Description

We have multiple openings for Integrated Master Schedulers to support the Strategic Deterrence Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) initiative within the nuclear and high hazard facilities to establish the IMS Program. With limited general direction, you will contribute to the implementation of scheduling functions to reflect management priorities including integrating multiple projects with competing resource requirements. You will support moderate-sized program scheduling assignments and monitor the program's progress toward milestones and key events. This position will be in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.

This position may offer a remote or hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the remote or hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

In this role, you will
  • Work with the Integrated Master Schedule Team to develop, implement, and maintain an Integrated Master Plan (IMP), including an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), by applying the principles of project management to small/large, complex, or inter-related project schedules.
  • Provide support to the Integrated Master Schedule team to satisfy the requirements of the IMS Program using scheduling products such as Oracle's Primavera P6 to complete the required IMS scheduling services and to develop templates, fragnets, schedule baselines, update schedules, analyze schedules, and generate IMS reports.
  • Ensure schedules include appropriate lead times and durations to maximize schedule compliance.
  • Assist the program and project managers with re-baselining requirement for projects in which major changes in milestone dates have occurred. Prior to re-baselining, the Scheduler will assist the program and project managers in "what-if" scenario analysis to rearrange sequences of work or schedule activity durations to mitigate a recovery plan and to prevent future re-baselining.
  • Run metrics with alerts that show activity slippage and aid program and project managers in decision making prior to project slippage.
  • Run schedule analysis to include metrics, critical path, float, and schedule variances.
  • Maintain schedules that include major milestones and deliverables from customers and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Responsibilities at the TSS.2 Level
  • Build and maintain a program-level IMS which includes major milestones and deliverables from internal customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with Integrated Project Teams to collect necessary project data to build the initial schedules.
  • Assist other schedulers to ensure a consistent application of the IMS Program across laboratory directorates.
  • Integrate project schedules to provide a roll up summarized report for program and project managers and leadership for each laboratory directorate.
  • Educate and assist program and project managers during the IMS process, virtually or in face-to-face meetings, develop analytical approaches and analysis of various scenarios such as "what-if" scenarios for projects which may be exposed to possible changes or delays and indicate the impact to a project's schedule and completion date.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, Construction Management or the equivalent combination of education and related technical experience.
  • Familiarity or exposure in scheduling experience in Primavera P6.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
  • Experience working with project leads and major stakeholders on a wide range of projects that require input from multiple organizations.
  • Sufficient experience analyzing and managing schedules and effectively communicating to all levels of the project team and stakeholders.
  • Experience working independently, managing multiple competing priorities under pressure, and applying exceptional organizational skills to accomplish work.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment.

Additional qualifications at the TSS.2 Level
  • Comprehensive experience developing project schedules that integrate within a program.
  • Proficient facilitation and leadership skills necessary to lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams of technical experts through planning and scheduling discussions, including conflict resolution skills necessary to resolve differing opinions, scheduling conflicts, and resource allocations.
  • Broad experience in lead creation and implementation of IMS schedule layouts and reports.
  • Comprehensive experience with Critical Path Management (CPM) scheduling and planning and performing Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs).
