Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a mission-critical DoD program in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role focuses on Tier 3 system administration with an emphasis on VDI environments across classified and unclassified networks. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Windows systems, virtualization, and cybersecurity compliance, along with the ability to support senior leadership in a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 3 support for VDI networks in secure and non-secure environments
- Manage and maintain Windows 11, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Administer McAfee products, VOIP phones, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams
- Apply and document DISA STIGs to ensure system compliance
- Configure and manage VMware environments and SANs
- Use SCCM for software deployment, patching, and compliance
- Provide technical support across secure and non-secure networks
- Support after-hours on-call operations as needed
- Collaborate with senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center setting
Core Requirements:
- 4-6 years of Tier 3 system or network administration experience
- Experience supporting VDI Thin Client networks
- Active security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP)
- Proven experience with:
- Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016/2019
- Active Directory and GPOs
- VMware and SANs
- SCCM
- DISA STIG compliance
- Ability to gain IMO Level 4 access from the Network Enterprise Center (NEC)
- Strong communication, customer service, and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting classified DoD networks
- Familiarity with Joint Operations Centers and senior leadership engagement
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Compensation:
- Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 (based on experience and education)
