About the Role:
Horizon Global Partners (HgP) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our mission-critical C5ISR programs supporting international defense modernization efforts. Based in Reston, VA, with periodic travel to Saudi Arabia, this role will support the development, analysis, and validation of advanced systems architecture, functional requirements, and integration plans for enterprise-scale command, control, communications, computing, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the architecture, modeling, and system-level requirements decomposition for complex defense systems.
Work directly with U.S. and international stakeholders to translate operational requirements into clear, testable system specifications.
Participate in the development and review of technical documents such as the System Requirements Document (SRD), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and High-Level Design (HLD).
Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques to ensure traceability from enterprise architecture through system design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program managers, enterprise architects, software engineers, and local partner organizations in KSA.
Support testing, validation, and acceptance phases through the lifecycle of Phase 1 (EA) and Phase 2 (System Design).
Contribute to the localization and knowledge transfer goals by mentoring junior engineers and supporting training efforts.
Assist in the development of technical proposals, reports, and client presentations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within defense, aerospace, or secure communications.
Demonstrated experience with systems modeling, architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF, MODAF), and structured requirements management.
Strong working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA, or SysML-based platforms.
Ability to produce high-quality documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
U.S. citizenship required with the ability to obtain a security clearance (if not already held).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with foreign military sales (FMS) or direct commercial sales (DCS) defense programs.
Familiarity with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) defense sector, SANGCOM, or MNG environments.
INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification.
Prior exposure to cybersecurity and information assurance principles in system engineering.
Arabic language proficiency is a plus but not required.
