Job title IT Specialist
Job purpose
Support either the MISTC with technical support of all C2 system, server builds, and network
infrastructure. The Network Engineer reports to and receives work direction derivatives from
the Academics Manager in coordination with the Program Manager (or Quantico Site Lead).
Duties and responsibilities
• Develop and document standardized installation, operation, integration, and sustainment
procedures for C2 systems, workstations, network infrastructure, and virtual machine
(VMWare) configurations residing at the MISTC site.
• Install, configure, optimize, maintain, and operate network servers, routers, and switches.
Ensuring these devices comply with the DoD Risk Management Framework and technical
requirements.
• Develop and implement access control lists on routers, firewalls, and other network
devices.
• Manage accounts, network rights, and access to MISTC systems and equipment
• Provide end user IT support for all MISTC operating systems, and peripherals.
• Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware.
• Perform IT related customer support functions including installation, configuration,
troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer
requirements.
• Research and provide recommendations for peripheral equipment, computer, network
infrastructure equipment, and supporting training technology to support the MISTC
systems training environment.
• Develop Information Technology Procurement Request and Approval System (ITPRAS)
waivers by employing the Marine Corps Remedy submission system.
• Maintain classrooms with latest versions of all USMC programs of record (POR) software.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
• Information Assurance
o Apply cyber security procedures and safeguards.
o Be able to produce and monitor site accreditation packages.
o Conduct policy compliance,
o Implement response actions to security incidents.
Qualifications
• Security + required
• CCNA, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent certificates desired.
Education
• Associate’s degree in an IT discipline is desired.
Years of Relative Work Experience
• 5 years’ experience in IT / Networking / Information Assurance.
