Position Summary:
Seeking a creative and highly talented Electrical Power Systems Engineer - Federal for immediate employment. This role involves designing and managing power distribution systems for Department of Defense (DoD) and Mission Critical Facility projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist in the design of medium and low voltage power systems, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
- Develop integrated control sequences and schematics for power distribution equipment.
- Create and edit product specifications for electrical components.
- Coordinate directly with client SMEs on power systems integration.
- Manage project lifecycle from site assessment to final design.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements and applicable codes.
- Produce electrical plans and details using Revit or AutoCAD.
- Perform power systems studies using SKM or similar software.
- Conduct onsite electrical surveys and construction site visits.
- Review electrical engineering designs for quality control.
- Mentor entry-level engineers.
- Prepare and review cost estimates for electrical scopes.
- Support construction administration including RFI and submittal reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass a motor vehicle records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with spot networks, micro-grid systems, and electrical commissioning.
- Familiarity with A/E services proposal development.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to multitask and self-initiate in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with telecommunications, A/V, and electronic security design.
