Quality Assurance Specialist
Fort Hood, TX Full-Time | On-site | Position Contingent Upon Award

We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support inspections and quality oversight on modified and fielded military equipment. In this critical role, you will ensure that all systems meet established U.S. Government standards and technical specifications while supporting readiness and compliance objectives across vehicle platforms and mission systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct quality inspections on complex military systems, components, and vehicle platforms.
  • Verify all maintenance and modifications meet U.S. Government specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Interpret and apply Technical Manuals (TMs) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for inspection criteria and standards.
  • Support post-modification diagnostics by troubleshooting equipment to ensure operational performance.
  • Document deficiencies and recommend corrective actions in coordination with field and maintenance teams.
  • Apply Army maintenance regulations and sustainment policies to quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in audits, quality meetings, and after-action reviews to improve overall program performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet qualifications for Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Occupation Code 23430).
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. military ground combat vehicles, subsystems, and mission packages.
  • Experience conducting quality control or quality assurance inspections on modified or repaired equipment.
  • Skilled in diagnosing faults on post-maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Army maintenance regulations, TMs, and QA documentation.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Certifications & Licenses:
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • OSHA or equivalent quality/safety certification preferred.
  • Army Quality Assurance or QC-related course completion a plus.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience performing inspections or maintenance on complex military systems.
  • Previous work in QA/QC roles for Army sustainment, reset, or fielding programs preferred.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or military vocational training in heavy equipment maintenance strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and exposure to motor pool or field environments.

Security Clearance:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret clearance required due to access to technical data and quality control documentation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Army fielding, modification, or reset operations.
  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army, deficiency reporting systems, or depot-level inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, Army AR 750-1, or other quality management frameworks.
  • Background in inspecting systems like Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, or support vehicles.

Position Contingent Upon Award:

This position will be filled following the award of a U.S. Army sustainment, modification, or quality assurance support contract.
