Shields Point, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, has a dynamic opportunity for a Training Manager (TM) in support of the Department of Transportation contract in the Washington, D.C. area. The TM is responsible for facilitating the training requirements for the contract. This role requires demonstrated experience in instructional methodologies, presentation skills, lesson plan development, record keeping, testing, and assessment and is adept at interacting with government personnel and ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards. This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Facilitate all contract-required training consisting of, but not limited to, basic and refresher training, firearms, weapon qualifications, intermediate weapons (Baton/OC Spray), legal updates, officer response tactics, defensive tactics, national weapon detection training screening program, CPR, AED, first aid, fire safety, telecommunications, and emergency preparedness.
  • Develop training plans, lesson plans, curriculums, presentations, and schedules.
  • Evaluate Armed Guards' performance through written and practical exams, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with written orders, policies, and procedures.
  • Submit and maintain all required reports, forms, and other documentation in accordance with established procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have and maintain an active Public Trust Tier 2 Security Clearance.
  • Must have completed an accredited Principles of Instruction course or equivalent (NRA, Police Academy, FLETC, or military training course).
  • Must have completed an accredited Firearms Instructor course (NRA, Police Academy, FLETC, or military training course).
  • Must have completed accredited instructor courses for both expandable Baton and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) aerosol projectors.
  • Must possess current National Weapons Detection Training Program Instructor or screening instructor equivalent certification.
  • Must be certified as an American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.
  • Must fluently speak, read, and comprehend English.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must possess good communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.

Expected pay range: $85,873 to $128,809 per year
