Job Description
As a TTC (Telemetry, Tracking & Commanding) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) engineer, you will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for defining, developing, testing, and sustaining specialized communication solutions used by warfighters worldwide on patrol in hostile environments. The communication system provides familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing ground forces to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than current systems.
Your role will involve both maintaining the current live system and helping add new capabilities, enhancements, and replacing end-of-life components. You'll focus specifically on telemetry, tracking and commanding systems, working with both hardware and software components while ensuring seamless ground-to-satellite communications.
The ideal candidate brings strong systems engineering experience with TTC systems, satellite communications knowledge, and the ability to lead integration and test processes in a collaborative defense environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions, and interfaces for TTC systems.
  • Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test hardware systems for communication applications.
  • Work with integrated telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C) system hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot ground-to-satellite communications issues and implement solutions.
  • Work with encryption and digital forward error correction systems.
  • Design and test digital and radio frequency (RF) systems using appropriate test equipment.
  • Develop scripts using Perl, Python, and other modern software languages.
  • Lead the systems engineering integration and test process.
  • Apply technical standards and methodologies to solve complex challenges creatively.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
  • Champion new ideas and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver specialized solutions.
  • Ensure system performance meets requirements and specifications.

Required Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • 5+ years of job-related experience (or Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience).
  • Experience with telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C) system hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of ground-to-satellite communications and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with encryption and digital forward error correction.
  • Familiarity with digital and radio frequency (RF) systems and test equipment.
  • Scripting experience using Perl, Python, and other modern software languages.
  • Ability to lead systems engineering integration and test processes.
  • Expertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve complex challenges.
  • Strong collaborative and technical leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of technology trends and process improvement methodologies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with military satellite communication systems.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of satellite network protocols and standards.
  • Experience with automated test equipment and procedures.
  • Familiarity with space systems and orbital mechanics.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field required.
Master's degree preferred.

Clearance Requirements
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred at time of hire.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
