Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is searching for a talented technology specialist to join the Microelectronic Technology Operation (MTO). MTO is focused on microelectronics and hardware security and is involved in the development of anti-tamper / protective technologies, failure analysis, reverse engineering, full spectrum cyber operations, and cyber tool development and solutions. Additionally, MTO conducts vulnerability research to include hardware exploitation, side-channel attacks, fault-injection attacks, and reverse engineering. MTO is currently working on cutting-edge Science & Technology (S&T) programs for the Department of Defense (DoD), with the goal of deploying these capabilities to the field.

The candidate will maintain the engineering lab for organization, cleanliness, utility, QMS compliance, and safety
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will possess, or will be driven by curiosity to learn, the art of being a lab practitioner in additional areas associated with microelectronics
A "can do" attitude is critical, as the role exists to get things done in a a timely and efficient manner

We are looking for a Technology Specialist to join the team supporting a broad range of activities in an electronics research & development (R&D) laboratory. This will entail hands-on implementation of best practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical and other technical disciplines. Amongst other things, the role entails
- Prototype integration / assembly work and inspection, with occasional support lent to low-volume production builds
- Electronics repair / rework / troubleshooting. Test and perform fault isolation of components
- Establish testing methods and perform engineering verification testing to ensure compliance with requirements, as well as conducting low-volume acceptance testing
- Fabrication of cables, wire harnesses & fixturing for engineering debug purposes
- Creation of assembly instructions and work instructions
The candidate will maintain the engineering lab for organization, cleanliness, utility, QMS compliance, and safety
- Maintenance of test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and keeping calibrations current
- Ensure ESD controls and grounding equipment checks, tracking and disposal of expired materials, perform inspections and associated recordkeeping
- Troubleshooting and repair of electronics, equipment, lab infrastructure
- Maintenance adequate stock of supplies, both for the lab proper and for particular electronics builds

- De-capping integrated circuits
- Wire bonding
- X-Ray and other forms of imaging for assembly inspection
- Operating and collecting test data from other specialized instruments

Required Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance
- Ten Years of Experience in Technical Field
- Results oriented and self-starter
- Expert-level electronics soldering / rework capabilities on fine-pitch components, BGAs, QFNs, etc. Demonstrated proficiency with crimping, splicing, and integration work.
- Proficiency operating electronics engineering lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, shake & vibe tables, environmental chambers, measurement instrumentation, fabrication equipment, etc
- Proven skills working independently as well as interpersonal relationship skills working with a wide variety of cross-functional engineers
- Comfort reading schematics, BOMs, fabrication drawings, etc
- Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to support administrative tasks as requested
- Willingness to support short bursts of extended working hours as required to make projects successful
- Ability to perform and/or assist all activities, including the use of hand and power tools, working with industrial chemicals and adhesives such as epoxy, glues, acids and cleaners
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a production environment would be a plus
- IPC certifications
- Trained as an Electronics and/or Mechanical Quality Inspector
- Experience fabricating or modifying items in a machine shop would be a plus
- Experience working in a microelectronics or failure analysis lab would be a plus
